Dreams do come true!
April 19, 2008It's the greatest feeling in the world, being on stage performing, seeing that you really effect the audience...it's simply amazing!
On Thursday night (4/17/2008) I performed my second magic show infront of a real audience (real meaning not just friends and family). It was just a talent show for my church but the thing of it was that I had performed once before and was asked back a second time because my act was that good!
It's the greatest feeling in the world, being on stage performing, seeing that you really effect the audience...it's simply amazing!
It was short, only 4 tricks but every trick went perfectly! I did a little of everything: cards, escape, mentalism, and a slightly dangerous trick involving a rope and my neck. (That last trick-which Criss did a version, of course mine is nothing compared to his, he is the best-was the best of the night. I could hear the audience gasping and telling me not to do it, my volunteers almost didn't have the stomach to pull the rope)
I have to say, I owe this to Criss. I started magic when I was younger but after some humilating disasters at talent shows and the death of my father (who taught me my first magic trick) I gave it up. And then I saw an episode of MINDFREAK where Criss taught a trick and I thought to myself, "I could do that" That was a year ago-at a family party I was showing my younger cousins the toothpick trick Criss Angel does and one of their parents saw. Next thing I know I'm doing it for the whole family, and the quater in a can trick. Then I couldn't stop learning and here I am...performing. I'll keep you all updated, who knows-maybe one day I'll be headlining in Vegas next to Criss Angel.
